Governments all over the world are putting different regulations in order to ensure transparency and
control the food that people find on their supermarket shelves.
The Albanian government has also been implementing a new law on Food Labels a similar one to that
of the European Union. The new law on Food Labels will make sure that all the labels are translated in
the Albanian language, and for the first time including allergens.
The law is crucial in meeting the European Standards of food safety.
Everyone in the food chain has an important role to play for food safety,
including the consumer.
The Albanian Consumer need to be educated not only on why to read the label but also on how to read
the label.
The purpose of this campaign is to raise awareness on the concept of food safety, to educate the public
on their role and choices when choosing their food with a specific focus on Albanian translated food
labels.
